The principle of causality has been considered self-evident among most philosophers of Islamic philosophy. However, in the works of Ibn Sina, there is both evidence that can be interpreted as self-evident and evidence that contradicts it. The word self-evident also has multiple meanings in Islamic philosophy, and it is necessary to examine the extra-textual efforts of proponents of the self-evident nature of the principle of causality to determine which of its meanings, from Ibn Sina's perspective, the principle of causality is self-evident and which is theoretical. This research, which is organized in a descriptive-analytical method and with a documentary approach, seeks to show that although the principle of causality is acknowledged by many people because it does not require thought or reflection in thought, and is therefore considered self-evident, since it can be proven with the help of valid arguments, it is not an indisputable proposition or a primary self-evident. Also, by criticizing the efforts of proponents of the obviousness of the principle of causality, this article shows that it is possible to present an interpretation of all of Avicenna's textual evidence in favor of the non-obviousness of the principle of causality in his work. Also, some innovations have been made in some reports in favor of the non-obviousness of the causality principle as well as other perspectives by the writers, which deserve attention and consideration.
