Although Farabi in his famous books like Aghrad Ma ba'd al-tabi'a, defines metaphysics as the science of being qua being, but in some of his books offers a different definition. Based on these books (Tahsil al-sa'ada, Philosophy of Aristotle, Kitab al-Huruf and Fusul Muntaza'a) metaphysics is a branch of theoretical sciences which the study and research in it is later than the other branches which are mathematics, physics and civil science. According to this farabi's view, metaphysician deals not only with the divine beings but also with other beings as God and divine beings are the ground and cause of their being. Although this definition is similar to the definition of Aristotle in books A and E but is different from them because in this view metaphysicians must consider all the beings not only divine ones.
