The problem of movement and change is one of the most central topics of metaphysics, which has long been the place of thought for most philosophers from Greece to modern times. However, the discussion about the existence and nature of movement or how to explain or stabilize it has always been the subject of discussion among philosophers. Ibn Sina, like many philosophers, has extensively discussed movement. After giving a general definition of movement and stating two meanings for it, he argues that only one of the meanings of movement (Medial motion) exists outside and the other meaning of movement (Traversal motion) exists in human imagination. The question that has been mostly neglected is why Ibn Sina made this distinction and finally gave the order to realize the traversal motion, and what is the position of this distinction in his philosophical system? This article, which is organized in a descriptive analytical method and with a documentary approach, is trying to answer this gap. The result of this study will finally show that Ibn Sina, with the image he presents of the truth of movement, tries to solve various challenges that have arisen in philosophy about movement.
