The first step in providing a proper family pattern is to review the theoretical ideas in mainstream sociology. One of the leading Muslim philosophers dealing with the issue of family studies and household management is Ibn Sina. In Western Philosophy, on the other hand, Anthony Giddens, a contemporary sociologist, has extensively discussed the issue of family structure. Thus, the present inquiry aims to compare the two scholars' views on a proper family structure and reveal their differences in the theoretical basis and fundamental factors. Carrying out careful analysis and evaluation of the existing literature, first, we study the three aspects of family types, family social functions and the role of relations according to Ibn Sina's views and then study Giddens's ideas about the issue in the light of his theory of democratic family and the pure relationship. Marriage and divorce, development of gender power system, the role of gender relations, and the norms of giving birth to babies are some of the issues of debate between Ibn Sina and Giddens. In other words, Ibn Sina forms a traditional social structure of the family in which gender relations are developed on the traditional structure of gender inequality legitimated at the time, while Giddens promoted an agenda of gender equality and democracy in families based on modern approaches that avoid the traditional patterns.  مؤلفه­ های الگوی خانواده مطلوب و کیفیت افزایش کارآمدی این نهاد مهم در جامعه، پرسشی بنیادین بوده که هم در حکمت عملی یونانی و اسلامی بدان پرداخته شده و هم در جامعه­ شناسی امروز از آن سخن گفته شده است. گام مقدماتی و اساسی در طراحی الگو در مطالعات اجتماعی، بررسی تلاش­های نظری صورت گرفته در این عرصه است. ابن­ سینا یکی از فلاسفه اسلامی مهم و تأثیرگذار است که به‌صورت مبسوط به مباحث مربوط به خانواده و تدبیر منزل پرداخته است. از سوی دیگر آنتونی گیدنز نیز یکی از جامعه­شناسان معاصر است که به‌صورت مشخص و مدون درباره الگوی مطلوب خانواده نظریه ­پردازی کرده است. هدف تحقیق حاضر، مقایسه دیدگاه ­های این دو متفکر پیرامون الگوی مطلوب خانواده و ایضاح نقاط اختلاف این دو، در دو ساحت مبانی و مؤلفه‌های الگو است. روش انجام این پژوهش به‌صورت مطالعه اسنادی و تحلیلی است. پژوهش حاضر الگوی خانواده را در سه محور ساختار و نوع خانواده، کارکردهای خانواده و روابط نقشی در نگاه ابن­ سینا تبیین کرده و سپس به مناقشات گیدنز در نسبت با این الگو با استفاده از نظریه خانواده دموکراتیک و رابطه ناب وی پرداخته است. الگوهای ازدواج و طلاق، ساخت قدرت در خانواده، روابط جنسیتی نقش و منطق فرزندآوری ازجمله عرصه­ های مهم مناقشات نظری ابن ­سینا و گیدنز ذیل بحث الگوی خانواده به شمار می ­روند. ابن­ سینا الگویی از خانواده سنتی را صورت­ بندی می­ کند که در آن مناسبات جنسیتی در بستر سنت تاریخی مردسالاری انجام گرفته و بازتولید می‏ شود؛ اما گیدنز با عنایت به تحولات خانواده در بستر مدرنیته بر امتناع بازگشت به الگوی سنتی خانواده تأکید دارد. https://ap.isu.ac.ir/article_74900_e924f6e6f38f8d6dfa86be4bb8314047.pdf
